Errol Rivers Jr. - Southwind High School

Errol, a senior, is a top student who shows an outstanding commitment to academics. He has maintained a 4.1 weighted grade point average while taking a course load that includes Advanced Placement and Honors classes. He has gained a reputation in AP English for being extremely thorough and analytical. He currently is president of the National Honor Society and a member of the National Art Honor Society. In addition, Errol is an active member of the Environmental Club, Latin Club, Beta Club and National Junior Humane Society. He avidly supports environmental safety efforts and enjoys participating in other clubs that support these issues. While working with the Junior Humane Society, Errol raised money for the club, donated money to animal shelters and gave blankets to animals in need. His efforts have not gone unnoticed by his peers who now are aware of the plight of many living creatures. Errol participated in an internship with the law firm, Martin, Tate, Morrow and Marston P.C. He was very successful in this position, making connections with many local attorneys. While working there, he made a fact book on many Memphis city and Tennessee officials. Although he has decided to pursue other interests, Errol learned many valuable lessons on the job that have enriched his life. His future plans include volunteering with the Peace Corps and attending Ohio University.
