Jessica Robertson - Bolton High School

Jessica, a senior, is a top student and outstanding musician. She holds a 3.7 weighted grade point average and scored 28 on the ACT. Jessica plans to major in music education in college. She is interested in all styles of music and is an accomplished singer and pianist. She is a member of Bolton's Concert Choir and Jazz Singers. Jessica has been in leadership roles since her freshman year when she traveled with the Jazz Singers (all juniors and seniors) to California as their accompanist. Since then, she has been like a student teacher. She leads many sectional rehearsals and helps teach choral parts to other students. She has conducted and accompanied others many times. She composed an a cappella arrangement of "The Christmas Song." Jessica made the All-Southwest Tennessee Honor Choir five years and the All-State Choir the last two years. She also has been an accompanist for the All-Southwest Choirs. This year she was selected to perform in the American Choral Directors Association Southern Regional Women's Choir. In addition to her musical leadership, Jessica designs creative T-shirts for the choir. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is active in musical theatre. She played the role of Kelsi in "High School Musical." She also is an important member of the praise band at her church where she sings and plays the piano. This band has won top awards at several national competitions. Jessica is willing to do extra work to achieve her goals. She is a conscientious and dependable student.
