
Winner in Career-Technical on March 14th, 2010
Zachery, a senior, is a top student who excels in his Career-Technical courses. He holds a 3.33 unweighted grade point average and scored 30 on the ACT. He has taken a mixture of Marketing and Business classes including Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Marketing I, Keyboarding, Spreadsheet Applications and Database Design Management. An involved member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), Zachery has competed at district, regional and state levels of competition. He is a past officer of DECA. As part of an event with UT-Martin, Zachery was a participant in the Young Scholars Program and is the recipient of the Young Scholar Award. He currently is enrolled in AP U.S. Government and Dual Enrollment-Advanced Math. He'll earn eight college credit hours for this math course. He also is taking Criminal Justice and Creative Writing. He also has taken Dual Enrollment English IV, College Prep U.S. History and Pre-Calculus. Zachery is a member of the National Honor Society, ACT All-Star Club, and Mu Alpha Theta, the math honor society. In addition, he is a member of the Spanish Club and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions). He was recently chosen as Student of the Month by the Brighton High School faculty. In the community, Zachery volunteers at Tipton Cares, a non-profit organization that serves the emergency needs of Tipton County. He also is a junior usher and active participant in the youth group at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church. He works with children through the After School Camp at Atoka Elementary School.
