Andrew Weeks - Center Hill High School

Andrew, a senior, is a top student and a great problem solver. He holds a 3.905 weighted grade point average and scored 29 on the ACT with a 32 on the math portion of the test. He has a mathematical mind and a passion for the sciences. He always strives to push himself academically. He currently is taking AP Chemistry, AP Calculus and Physics. Andrew is a charter member of the Center Hill High School Robotics Team that competed this fall at the Mississippi State University Bulldog BEST Competition. He also was selected to attend an engineering and manufacturing camp at Ole Miss last summer. His commitment to his studies is admirable and serves as motivation to his classmates. With the rapid advancement and constant change of technology, Andrew continually has to adapt to new software programs and new equipment at school and in his volunteer work. He is motivated and willing and enjoys the experience of learning. Andrew is an avid volunteer. On Friday nights, he filmed football games for the team. At Life Fellowship Church, he helps to prepare for children, youth and adult services using his knowledge of the sound, lighting and computer systems. His contributions are often behind the scenes going unnoticed by many. However, the work he does helps to create an unforgettable experience each week. Andrew also organizes childcare and performs many simple tasks and manual labor. Andrew shows intense dedication to his academic life and plans to major in mechanical engineering at The University of Mississippi.
