Joseph Meinweiser - Munford High School

Joseph, a senior, balances academic achievement with an active involvement in school and community activities. He holds a 4.0 unweighted grade point average, scored 31 on the ACT and is ranked in the top one per cent of his senior class. He has earned 12 hours of college credit in U.S. History and Music Theory. He was selected for the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts where he increased his French horn skills. An outstanding student leader, Joseph was chosen for the TOTAL Youth Leadership Program where he gained knowledge of Tipton County’s political and economic processes. He also was selected to attend American Legion’s Boys State where he was elected to the House of Representatives. Joseph also serves as the Field Commander of the Munford High School Marching Band and was chosen to attend a week-long band camp to prepare for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game. He has earned distinction as a member of the All-West TN Senior Orchestra and All-State Orchestra. He received private instruction from the Memphis Symphony’s Ion Balu. An outstanding student, Joseph is a member of the National Honor Society, Principal’s Honor Roll and National Spanish Honor Society. He has received numerous first and second place awards in regional Spanish competitions. He recently earned first place in “Role Play” at the state competition for DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). Joseph has provided more than 725 volunteer hours to various community organizations providing maintenance, logistics and missions work.
