
Winner in Art on October 30th, 2011
Kimberly, a senior, is an outstanding student and excellent artist. She holds a 4.8 weighted grade point average and scored 28 on the ACT. She currently ranks first in her senior class and is on track to be the 2012 valedictorian. She takes Advanced Placement Studio Art and maintains a 100 average. She also takes AP English. She has earned college credit in another AP art portfolio class. Kimberly has received numerous awards for her artwork. Recently she won a first place in the PTSA Reflections Art Competition. She has exhibited her work at The University of Memphis, Baptist Hospital and the Delta Fair. She makes a profound difference in the art room by her leadership. She is a responsible, disciplined student who sets an example for other students by attacking assignments with enthusiasm and completing each assignment in a timely and professional manner. A role model for her classmates, Kimberly is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). She is a very mature student who serves as a peer mentor for younger students. Active in the community, Kimberly volunteers at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and the Children’s Museum of Memphis. She works as support staff for various activities during the school year. She also serves as a teacher’s assistant, helping to organize and store supplies as well as setting up displays.
