
Winner in General Scholarship on December 4th, 2011
Rachel, a senior, balances a challenging work load with a schedule filled with extracurricular activities. She holds a 4.14 weighted grade point average and scored 31 on the ACT, with a perfect 36 on the English portion of the exam. She currently is ranked third in a class of 364 seniors. She placed second in the regional ACTM math competition. As president of the Student Council, Rachel represents her peers and leads numerous projects during the school year. She helps host the Annual Grandparents’ Day Breakfast, collects canned goods and buys turkeys for needy members of the community. She also serves as vice-president of Mu Alpha Theta and is an active member of the Beta Club and Pep Club. In addition, Rachel is president of the Kappa Rho Chapter of Delta Beta Sigma, a high school sorority. At the DBS National Convention, she was selected as Co-National Outstanding Member of the Year. Her sorority has raised more than $1,000 for breast cancer research and to prevent child abuse. It participates in at least one community service project each month.
