
Winner in Social Sciences & History on February 12th, 2012
Allison, a senior, is a dedicated student, a voracious reader and an inquisitive learner. She holds a 4.53 weighted grade point average, scored 29 on the ACT and 1970 on the SAT. She is a National Achievement Semifinalist. She recently participated in the prestigious St. Albans School of Public Service. This program brings 35 top high school students to Washington where they undertake an in-depth exploration of government, politics and public service. As vice-president of the senior class, Allison is an effective and focused leader. She is informed on current events and has thoughtful opinions. She not only questions the content in some classes but also encourages her classmates to use their shared learning to contribute to the discussion. She is a member of the Sara Frey History Honor Society, president of the Crest Society, the school’s ambassador program, and a member of Rogers Scholars, an organization designed to help students become more aware of history and their community. An active volunteer, Allison has contributed more than 163 service hours to the community. She is involved in LeBonheur Teens and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
