Winner in General Scholarship on October 7th, 2012
Hayley, a senior, is a top academic student who holds a 5.78 weighted grade point average, scored 34 on the ACT and scored 2360 on the SAT. She was named a National Merit Semifinalist and was selected as the school’s nominee for the Jefferson Scholarship at the University of Virginia. She is a two-time gold medalist on the National Latin Exam. In 2012, Hayley received the Mays Distinguished Writers Award and the Hollins University Book Award. She won four gold medals and numerous silver medals in the University of Memphis Wordsmith Writing Olympics. She also received a superior ranking in the Memphis Music Teachers’ Association piano competition. She is a member of these honor societies: Cliosophic, National Latin Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, the Cum Laude Society, National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. Hayley attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Humanities and received a full merit scholarship to the Global Young Leaders’ Conference. She has spent more than 150 hours cleaning up neighborhoods and the Wolf River wetlands.
